The Polish Language Course for the C2 Certificate is an elite, 40-hour program dedicated to individuals aiming to achieve mastery level. This proposal is for those who wish to use Polish with the same fluency, precision, and sense of context as highly educated native speakers. We have prepared the program based on the most stringent standards of the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education (Poz. 217).
The C2 level is proof of full linguistic and cultural assimilation. During 40 hours of intensive online work, we will prepare you to pass the most extensive exam session – a 290-minute written block and a half-hour oral exam. We focus on details that will allow you to exceed the required 60% threshold in each module, eliminating even the smallest stylistic flaws.
Mastery in Interpretation and Rhetoric
At the C2 level, the focus shifts from simple communication to interpreting semantic nuances and masterfully controlling style. During the course, you will learn:
- Analysis of highly specialized texts. You will master strategies for reading and understanding academic, legal texts, and complex literature. You will learn to catch allusions, irony, and hidden cultural codes.
- Advanced composition and stylization. You will practice the ability to create derivative texts and transform official styles into informal ones and vice versa. You will learn how to apply the principles of rhetoric so that your speeches and essays are captivating and substantively flawless.
- “Native level” proficiency strategies. You will learn fluid discourse management, including the ability to instantaneously reformulate thoughts in situations of high difficulty. This will allow you to maintain impeccable fluency during the 30-minute oral exam.
Full Grammatical and Lexical Inventory (C2 Standard)
The program covers all, even the rarest, syntactic constructions listed in the official list of topics for the advanced level:
- Semantics of prefixes. We will analyze the function of prefixes that give verbs specific meanings, e.g., the prefix od- (e.g., odbarwić – to bleach, odrysować – to trace/redraw, odśnieżyć – to clear snow), which changes the character of the action depending on the context.
- Stylistically marked vocabulary and regionalisms. You will learn the correct use of idioms, archaisms, professionalisms, and legalese. You will understand the differences between neutral and emotionally charged vocabulary.
- Extreme inflection. You will master the declension of the most difficult nouns (e.g., przerębel – ice hole, żołądź – acorn, sitowie – bulrushes, chłopię – young boy) and complex nominal groups that appear in mastery-level exam papers.
Competencies in the Academic and Public Spheres
- Debate and argumentation. We will prepare you to conduct discussions on abstract, ethical, and social topics (e.g., euthanasia, experimental medicine, science vs. ethics). You will learn to defend theses using rich argumentation and rhetorical questions.
- Polish culture vs. foreign culture. You will master the comparative analysis of cultural standards and social roles, which is a key element of C2 level tasks.
- Official and academic precision. You will learn to write petitions, open letters, academic reviews, and reports on events of national importance.
